Jeremiah Masoli Timeline
1988: Jeremiah is born on Aug. 24 in San Francisco.
1993: Attends Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Daly City.
1997: Joins the San Bruno Rams Pop Warner Youth Football team.
1998: Started basketball and conditioning workouts at St. Mary's Rec Center in San Francisco.
2001: Becomes quarterback on the San Bruno Rams Pop Warner team.
2002: Graduates from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, begins freshman year at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo. He joins the football, basketball and track and field teams.
2002: Jeremiah is named the offensive MVP on the Serra High football team.
2005: Jeremiah also plays on the basketball team (not as a starter) and the team makes it to the state championship round.
2005: After football practice one day, Jeremiah is riding along with five friends near another high school. They pull over at the school. Some of the boys steal a wallet from a young man and get back in the car. Police very quickly pull over the car. In interviews with police, Jeremiah is remorseful about the incident. All six boys are arrested and convicted. Jeremiah spends 90 days in juvenile hall and is kicked off the Serra football team.
2005: Transfers to St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he becomes an All-State basketball player his senior year.
2006: Graduates from St. Louis High School with an Academic Excellence Award in Science and 4.0 GPA.
2006: Enrolls at City College of San Francisco.
2007: In his first year as quarterback of City College, he throws for 3,592 yards and 30 touchdowns and runs for 448 yards and 11 scores.
2007: Leads City College of San Francisco to a 31-28 victory over Mount San Antonio College to win the California State Community College Championship. He is named Offensive MVP. City College is subsequently named National Junior College Football Champions.
2007: Recipient of several awards: Community College Football All Conference Team Quarterback, Offensive Player of the Year - Northern California Conference, Junior College State Football Champion and the National Junior College Football Champion.
2008: After City College, he transfers to University of Oregon.
2008: After his first season at Oregon, he is twice named the Pac-10 Player of the Week (Offense).
2008: At the Holiday Bowl, he runs over and through Oklahoma State’s defense for three touchdowns and throws for another to lead the Ducks to a 42-31 win over the Cowboys. He is named Offensive MVP for the game.
2008: Wins First-Year Player of the Year (Casanova Award).
2008: Set a new UO single-season standard for rushing yards by a Quarterback.Joined the Oregon Iron Club with a total lift of 1,128 pounds (4.88 times his body weight) in clean, squat and bench. Set the program standard with a squat of 485 pounds and ranks among the top 5 all time among Quarterbacks with bench of 330 pounds.
2009: Leads the Ducks to victory over the University of Southern California, 47–20, on Halloween. Oregon's 47 points is the most it has ever scored against USC in 56 meetings. He completes 19 of 31 passes for 221 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. He also runs for 164 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown.
2009: Has best passing performance against University of California, completing 21 of 25 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns. Oregon wins 47-3.
2009: In what many regard as a Pac-10 game of the decade, he leads Oregon to a 44-41 double-overtime win against Arizona. With red-clad Arizona fans encircling the field, Masoli ties the game in regulation with six seconds left with a touchdown pass to Ed Dickson. That day, he runs for three TDs and passes for three more.
2009: Takes Ducks to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1995. Oregon loses to Ohio State 26-17.
2009: Wins Pac-10 offensive player of the week for the week of November 21, 2009; AT&T ESPN All-America Player of the Week; Receives Davey O'Brien Award Watch List (nation's top QB), Preseason 1st Team All-Pac-10, U of O Most Outstanding Player (Skeie’s Award); Elite National & QB Performer, College Football Performance Awards, Oregon Sports Award Athlete of the Year finalist; Island Sports Media (HI) Athlete of the Year finalist. Is recognized by the Heisman Trophy Trust for Outstanding Performance.
2010: Jeremiah is charged with burglary along with former teammate Garrett Embry. Despite professing his innocence privately, Jeremiah pleads guilty to avoid jail time. He is suspended for one year from the University of Oregon football team. Months later, he is cited for driving with a suspended license, failing to stop at a sidewalk and possession of marijuana. Those charges are pending. In July, Sports Illustrated publishes a story about Jeremiah.
2010: Graduates from University of Oregon with a BA in Sociology.
2010: Enrolls at University of Mississippi to pursue graduate studies in Recreation and Parks Management.
2011: Signed as an Undrafted Free Agent by the San Francisco Forty Niners. First as a Running Back, then named QB and given the number 3.
